I fell in love with Brussels Spouts after we moved to the US. The way they are cooked here is absolutely delicious. This recipe is one of my favorite versions with Maple syrup and bacon.
- 1 bag (about 500gr – 1 pound) medium sized Brussels spouts
- 3 table spoons of Maple syrup
- 1 table spoon Olive oil
- 4 strips of finely chopped bacon or pancetta
- salt to taste
Step 1. Preheat oven to 400F.
Step 2. Lightly boil Brussels spouts in salted water, about 5 min. They should not be cooked. Pour out the water and cut them in halves. Place halved Brussels spouts in a bowl, add Maple syrup, salt and oil. Mix well and move to the baking tray.
Step 3. Evenly spread chopped bacon or pancetta and place in the oven to roast for 20-25 min. Brussel spout edges should be brown and crispy.
